Kelley J Sullivan is a mixed media painter and a native of Bozeman, Montana. Kelley carries a strong belief that art should evoke a powerful response, with feelings deeply personal to each viewer.
Kelley revels in the organic movement of paint. Working
with few preconceptions, she lets the medium decide much of its own path. With nature as the heart of her inspiration, she creates an emotional landscape by building layer upon layer. Techniques include dipping, soaking, and drenching the canvas in water after each application of paint until images emerge.
Kelley’s work has been shown extensively in Bozeman, Montana, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Sausalito, California. “Angels and Monkeys”, "Sojourn", and "Those Among Us" have been published in mixed media coffee table books and many of her paintings can be found in private collections across the U.S. and Canada. You can currently see her work at Style A Gallery and in her personal studio/gallery at the Emerson Center for Arts and Culture, Studio 295 in Bozeman, Montana.
